Primer Technology for PANEX Sandwich Panels

PANEX continues to refine its production line and strengthen product quality control. A new component  Primer has become an integral part of our manufacturing process.

What is a Primer and what is its purpose?

A primer is a special coating (base) that plays a crucial role between the polyurethane (PIR/PUR) foam and the metal layer. It acts as an "adhesive bridge" that maximizes the bond between the insulation material and the metal sheet.

Why is this important for our customers?

During the lifespan of a sandwich panel, a solid connection between the foam and the metal is vital. The use of a primer ensures:

  • Superior Durability: It prevents the metal layer from peeling away from the foam (delamination), even after years of use.
  • Enhanced Thermal Insulation: A tight bond prevents the formation of micro-voids within the panel.
  • Structural Strength: The panel becomes more monolithic and resistant to mechanical stress.

In the PANEX production line, the use of a primer is not an option — it is a standard and mandatory stage of production to ensure the highest quality.
